Linear dispersive decay estimates for the 3+1 dimensional water wave equation with surface tension

چکیده
We consider the linearization of the three-dimensional water waves equation with surface tension about a flat interface. Using oscillatory integral methods, we prove that solutions of this equation demonstrate dispersive decay at the somewhat surprising rate of t−5/6. This rate is due to competition between surface tension and gravitation at O(1) wave numbers and is connected to the fact that, in the presence of surface tension, there is a so-called “slowest wave”. Additionally, we combine our dispersive estimates with L type energy bounds to prove a family of Strichartz estimates.

Linear Dispersive Decay Estimates for Vortex Sheets with Surface Tension
We consider the amplitude decay for the linearized equations governing irrotational vortex sheets and water waves with surface tension. Using oscillatory integral estimates, we prove that the magnitude of the amplitude decays faster than t−1/3.
متن کاملStrichartz Estimates for the Water-wave Problem with Surface Tension
We study dispersive properties of one-dimensional surface waterwaves under surface tension, based on the formulation of the problem as a nonlinear dispersive equation coupled with a transport-type equation. We establish a dispersion estimate on time scales depending on the size of the frequencies. We infer that, if s is large enough, then a solution u of the dispersive equation satisfies local-...

Dispersive characters are studied for waves on the one-dimensional free surface of an infinitely deep perfect fluid under the influence of gravity and surface tension. The hydrodynamic problem for surface water-waves is discussed with emphasis on the effects of surface tension. A new formulation is developed as a second-order in time quasilinear dispersive equation for a dynamic variable define...

We study the dispersive character for waves on the one-dimensional free surface of an infinitely deep perfect fluid under the influence of surface tension. The main result state that, on average in time, the solution of the water-wave problem gains locally 1/4 derivative of smoothness in the spatial variable, compared to the initial state. The regularizing effect is a direct consequence of disp...
متن کاملDecay estimates of solutions to the IBq equation
In this paper we focus on the Cauchy problem for the generalized IBq equation with damped term in $n$-dimensional space. We establish the global existence and decay estimates of solution with $L^q(1leq qleq 2)$ initial value, provided that the initial value is suitably small. Moreover, we also show that the solution is asymptotic to the solution $u_L$ to the corresponding linear equa...
